হেরাট থেকে সাফাভি দরবারে
১। মশদ ভ্রমণের অনুমতি চেয়ে হুমায়ুনের চিঠি শাহকে
মশদ ভ্রমণের অনুমতি চেয়ে হুমায়ুন শাহ তাহমস্পকে চিঠি লিখলেন। চিঠিটা যতদূরসম্ভব হেরাট থেকেই লেখা হয়। তিনি লিখলেন
চিরস্থায়ী রাজ্য আর অনন্তকাল আমাদের নয়;
চিরস্থায়ী রাজত্ব আর অনন্তকাল ঈশ্বরেরই হয়।
আন্তরিকতা এবং ঘনিষ্ঠতার আনুষ্ঠানিকতার প্রকাশের উত্তর সময়ে, পুনর্জাগরিত হৃদয়ে যা যা অদৃশ্যের ছবির আয়না এবং অদৃশ্যের ছবির প্রতিফলনের আধার – যেমন অনন্তকাল থেকে এই প্রেমিকের (হুমায়ূন) অস্তিত্বের ধূলিকণা মিশে গিয়েছিল নবী পরিবারের স্নেহের জলে, পবিত্রতার ভান্ডারে এবং নবী পরিবারের গৌরবময় বংশধরদের স্নেহের জলে, নির্দোষ ইমামদের, এবং যে মহানবীর আশীর্বাদ ও সাহায্যে, ঈশ্বরের দরবার পরিষদ — তাঁর মহিমা মহিমান্বিত হোক, তাঁর শুভ অনুগ্রহ সর্বজনীন হোক — নিয়তি ও ভাগ্য-লেখকেরা আনন্দদায়ক স্বাক্ষর লিপিবদ্ধ করেন — তিনি যাকে পছন্দ করেন তাঁকেই সম্মান দেন, এই বিক্ষিপ্ত আত্মার নামে, সীলমোহরের রক্ষক হিসেবে — বলুন, হে ঈশ্বর, রাষ্ট্রের স্বত্বাধিকারী — তাঁর মহান হুকুমে রাষ্ট্র সজ্জিত হয় — তিনি যাকে পছন্দ করেন তাকে রাষ্ট্র দান করেন —, যতদূর সম্ভব (এই নম্র আত্মা) সম্পূর্ণ প্রচেষ্টায় ঈমানের পতাকা সমুন্নত করেছে এবং পূর্ণ মনোযোগ দিয়েছে নবীদের প্রধানের ধর্মের আদেশ-নিষেধ কার্যকর করতে। সেই তৃপ্তিতে এই সৌহার্দ্যপূর্ণ প্রেমিকের আর চির বন্ধুর হৃদয়ে অন্য কোনও আকাঙ্ক্ষা অথবা প্রত্যাশা রইল না। প্রতিটি ইচ্ছা যা একজন মানুষের কল্পনা ও ধারণার শক্তিতে চিত্রিত হতে পারে, দয়াময় ঈশ্বরের কৃপায় পূর্ণ হয়েছিল কোনও সৃষ্ট সত্ত্বায় বাধ্যবাধকতা প্রকাশ ব্যতীত, ব্যতক্রমীভাবে যে তিনি প্রদক্ষিণ করার মহান সুখ এবং উচ্চ পদের সম্মান পাননি— নিষ্পাপ ইমামদের আবাসস্থল যার চারদিকে ফেরেশতারা হেঁটে বেড়ায়, এবং ‘বিশেষ করে পবিত্র সমাধি, আল-রিজার সমাধি এবং (আনন্দ) অত্যন্ত উন্নীত (সিডরা-রাঙ্কযুক্ত) জিনি এবং পুরুষদের রাজার আলোকিত সুবিধার, (কবিতা)
তিনিই যাঁর পায়ের ধুলো আমাদের চোখের কোলিরিয়াম;
তিনিই দুনিয়া ও আখিরাতে আমাদের পথপ্রদর্শক ও ইমাম;
অর্থাৎ, ইমাম, গরীবদের লালনপালনকারী, পবিত্র বাদশাহ, আবুল-হাসান ‘আলি বিন মুসা আল-রিজা -হাজারো বরকত ও সালাম তাঁর উপর (বর্ষিত হোক)। সকাল-সন্ধ্যা সব সময়ে, বরং ক্রমাগত, সমস্ত নম্রতা ও বিনয়ের সাথে, এই আহ্বানকারীর (হুমায়ূন) আন্তরিক প্রার্থনার প্রভাব প্রকাশিত হওয়া পর্যন্ত পরমানন্দ লাভের উপায়ের জন্য সর্বজ্ঞের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতে থাকেন এবং দয়ার হাওয়া পৌঁছল ‘দুঃখের আবাস’-এর বাসিন্দাদের আত্মার গন্ধ-স্থানে বিচ্ছেদ এবং শোক এবং উত্তাপ অনুসারে — তুমি কখনই ঈশ্বরের পথে অবস্থান্তর খুঁজে পাবে না — (এবং) স্বর্গীয় কণ্ঠস্বর এবং ইজাজরাত ইমামের দরজার শিকলের উপর হাত দিয়ে সন্দেহাতীত আহ্বানকারী — তাঁর উপর বরকত ও শান্তি বর্ষিত হোক (ঘোষিত)
তোমার বাসস্থান জান্নাত;
তোমার লজ্জিত হও, যে তুমি পৃথিবীতে বাস করো।
যখন বেহেস্তের আওয়াজ তার ইন্দ্রিয়ের কানে পৌঁছাল, তখন তিনি, সমস্ত আকাঙ্ক্ষা এবং নিখুঁত উদ্দেশ্যের আন্তরিকতা এবং ভক্তির অনুগ্রহের সাথে সত্যিকারের ভোরের মতো আন্তরিকভাবে সেদিকে (অর্থাৎ ইমামের কবর জিয়ারত করে) অভ্যন্তরীণ আয়নার পৃষ্ঠতল তৈরি করলেন, যেখানে সন্দেহের বিন্দুমাত্র অবকাশ নেই। কিন্তু তা সত্ত্বেও, তিনি মহামহিম-এর অনুমতি ও সম্মতির জন্য অপেক্ষা করলেন যা প্রকৃতপক্ষে পবিত্র আবাসস্থলে তীর্থযাত্রা করার আসল অনুমতি যেমন ইমামের পবিত্র সমাধি, তাঁর উপর আশীর্বাদ ও শান্তি বর্ষিত হোক — অনুগ্রহযোগ্য চিঠি পর্যন্ত – ঠিক যেমন স্বর্গ থেকে অবতীর্ণ ওহীর মতো এবং এটি একটি লিখিত গ্রন্থ যাকে নিকটবর্তীরা মান্যতা দেয় এবং এই মান্যতাটা এই বইতে রয়েছে, সম্মানের সাথে রয়েছে, পবিত্র, সম্মানিত এবং ধার্মিক লেখকদের হাতে সমুচ্চ এবং মহামহিম, ঈশ্বরের ছায়ার দরবারের বাসিন্দাদের কাছ থেকে সুখী আশীর্বাদ সমন্বিত, নির্দেশের অপেক্ষায় এই প্রকৃত প্রেমিকের কাছে পৌঁছেছে, তাকে সাক্ষাৎকার (অনুমতি) লাভ করার বিষয়ে অবহিত করেছেন। জিহ্বা, তীর্থযাত্রীর পোশাক পরিধান করে (ইরহাম) বলে :
আপনার প্রশংসা কতটা ভাল যা আত্মার শান্তির সান্ত্বনা দেয়;
আপনার কথাটি কতটা ভালো, যা বিজয়ের ভান্ডারের চাবিকাঠি নির্ধারণ করে;
আশার কাফেলার ডাকে সাড়া দিলেম। পরমানন্দের দ্বারা সম্পূর্ণরূপে অধিষ্ঠিত হয়ে, আশা ও প্রত্যাশার কাবার উদ্দেশ্যে দেরি না করে রওনা হলেন এবং নেতৃত্ব ও সাধুত্বের ঘরের লোকদের (অর্থাৎ নবির পরিবারের) শক্তিশালী বলয়কে শক্ত হাতে ধরে গন্তব্যের দিকে এগিয়ে গেলেন বিভ্রান্তির উপত্যকা এবং বিভ্রান্তির বনের মধ্য দিয়ে তার পথের নির্দেশিকা গ্রহণ করে, ঐতিহ্যের তাৎপর্য — আমার পরিবারের সদস্যদের উদাহরণ নূহের জাহাজের মতো —। এবং অবশিষ্ট নেক (কর্ম) আপনার ঈশ্বরের কাছে পুরস্কার এবং উত্তম আশার দিক থেকে উত্তম।
Perpetual kingdom and eternity are not ours;
It is God to whom belong perpetual kingdom and eternity.
After the expression of sincerity and the formalities of intimacy, it is being made manifest on the enlightened heart which is the mirror of the pictures of the invisible and receptacle of the reflection of the pictures of the infallible, — May His grandeur be glorified and may Ills bounties be universal — the Scribes of Destiny and Fate recorded the delightful signet of — Thou givest honour whom Thou likest in the name of this distracted self, and the Keeper of the seals of — Say, 01 God, the possessor of kingdom — decorated it with the exalted mandate of—Thou bestowest kingdom upon whom Thou likest —, so far as possible (this hunible self) made perfect efforts in and gave full attention to exalting the flags of faith and executing th9 injunctions of the religion of the chief of the prophets. With that satisfaction there remained no longing and expectation in the heart of this cordial lover and eternal friend. Every desire which may be depicted in the power of imagination and conception of a man was fulfilled by the grace of the beneficent God without obligation to any created being except that he had not the honour of the great bliss and high position of going round the-abodes of the innocent Imams round which the angels walk, and’ especially the holy sepulchre, the mausoleum of al-R45, and (the bliss) of the illuminating benefits of the highly elevated (sidra-ranked) king of genii and men, (verse):
It is he whose foot-dust is the collyrium of our eyes;
It is he who is our guide and Imam in the world and hereafter;
that is, the Imam, nourisher of the poor, the holy king, Abu’l-klasan ‘All bin Musa al-Riza — Thousands of benedictions and peace be upon him —. At all tines in the morning and evening, rather continually, he, with all humi-lity and submission, was praying to the Omniscient for the means of obtaining bliss till the effect of the sincere prayer of this caller (Humayun) appeared, and the breeze of kindness reached the smelling-place of the soul of the dwellers of ‘the abode of sorrows’ of separation and grief and heat according to — Thou shalt never find a change in the way of God — (and) the heavenly voice and the indubitable caller with his hand on the chain of the door of Ijazrat Imam — May benedictions and peace be upon him (announced) verse:
Your abode is paradise;
You should The ashamed that you come and stay on earth.
When the voice from heaven reached the ear of his sense, he, like the true dawn with all desire and perfect sincerity of purpose and the grace of devotion turned sincerely towards that (i.e. visiting the tomb of the imam), making the surface of the inward mirror quite clear of the marks of abundance of suspicion. But notwithstanding this, he was waiting for the issue of the permission and consent of Your Majesty which is in fact the real permission for making pilgrimage to the holy abode, viz. the holy sepulchre I the Imam May benedictions and peace be upon him — till the gracious letter — Just like the revelation descending from the heaven and that is a written book to which the near ones bear testimony and it is in books, held in honour, exalted and kept pure by the hands of writers, honourable and pious—containing the happy blessings from the dwellers of the court of His Majesty, the shadow of God, reached this true lover awaiting instructions, intimating him of (the permission of) availing the interview. And the tongue, donning the garb of a pilgrim (Irham) with this saying :
How good are your compliments which are the comfort to the peace of the soul;
How good is your word which is the key to the treasures of victories ;
along with the caravans of hope, responded to the call. Being fully over-powered by ecstasy, he set out without delay for the Ka`ba of hope and expectations and proceeded towards the destination, holding with firm hand the strong ring of the people of the house of leadership and sainthood (i.e. the family of the prophet), taking for the guide of his path, through the valley of bewilderment and the forest of distraction, the significance of the tradition—The example of the members of my family is like that of the ark of Noah—. And the remaining good (deeds) are better before your God as regards rewards and good hope.। (চলবে)
